The Guinea-Bissau International Ships Registry (G-B I.S.R.) is pleased to announce the official release of Marine Notice 02/2025, titled “G-B I.S.R. Maritime Strategy for Flag State Implementation of IMO Instruments.” This strategy sets out the Registry’s structured approach to fulfilling the delegated flag State responsibilities of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau in line with the IMO Instruments Implementation Code (III Code), Resolution A.1070(28). It outlines a performance-based framework built around strategic planning, effective monitoring, and continuous improvement in implementing mandatory IMO instruments such as SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, LL, TONNAGE and COLREG. The document also formalizes institutional responsibilities, oversight of Recognized Organizations (ROs), casualty investigation protocols, and stakeholder engagement mechanisms. This initiative reflects the Registry’s commitment to transparent, accountable, and internationally aligned maritime governance.
