The International Ships Registry of Guinea-Bissau (G-B ISR) is pleased to announce the formal conclusion of the Agreement Governing the Delegation of Statutory Certification Services with Isthmus Bureau of Shipping (IBS), Panama .
Pursuant to this Agreement, IBS has been granted Recognized Organization (RO) Authorization Status, empowering it to perform statutory surveys and certification on behalf of the Guinea-Bissau Maritime Administration for vessels registered under the Guinea-Bissau Flag.
Strengthening the G-B ISR Global Network
Through this strategic authorization, IBS is fully empowered to:
- Conduct statutory surveys and audits;
- Verify compliance with applicable international conventions, codes, and national legislation;
- Issue or support the issuance of statutory certificates on behalf of the Administration.
The authorization has been granted in full alignment with the IMO RO Code framework and the operational priorities of the G-B ISR, reinforcing our commitment to:
- Regulatory integrity
- Technical competence
- Efficient service delivery
- Enhanced global presence
This development forms part of the Registry’s broader strategic objective to continuously strengthen its international partnerships and technical infrastructure, while maintaining full compliance with IMO instruments and Member State reporting obligations.
The authorization has been duly recorded within the IMO GISIS “Recognized Organizations” Module, in accordance with applicable IMO circulars and transparency requirements .
